OSHKOSH, WISCONSIN — The Mount St. Joseph University women's soccer team defeated Wisconsin–Oshkosh, 3–2, on the road at Titan Stadium Friday afternoon, opening the season with a 2–0 record.

The Mount came out strong in the first half putting continuous pressure on the Wisconsin-Oshkosh defense. In the twenty sixth minute Mary Anhofer broke the tie for the Lions scoring off a pass from Khloe Young making it 1-0. A little over four minutes later Anhofer would find the back of the net again off the assist from Kendal Fox giving the Mount a 2-0 advantage. The Lions defense stopped a few Titan threats giving them a 2-0 lead going into halftime.

The second half the Lions continued to apply pressure on the Wisconsin-Oshkosh defense. In the fifty ninth minute Gabrielle Egan scored off a free kick pass from Sophie Roebel extending the lead to 3-0. In the eighty second and eighty seventh minute the Titans would add a pair of goals but the Mount would hold onto to pick up the road win 3-2.

UP NEXT: The Mount will continue their road trip as they travel to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where they will take on Carthage College on Saturday, September 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
