Austin Woodby will be entering his third season as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator at Mount St. Joseph University.
Coach Woodby hails from Springboro, OH and is a product of Springboro High School where he played for Coach Mark Pelfrey. As a 2013 graduate, Woodby won numerous awards for his academic and athletic playing career. He was twice named first team All-Greater Western Ohio Conference (GWOC) and was a two-time GWOC Scholar Athlete.
Woodby began his collegiate career at the University of Cincinnati where he made 14 appearances for the Bearcats while pitching in 33 innings. He posted a 3-0 record with one save while collecting twenty strikeouts and just seven walks.
After his freshman season Woodby transferred to The Ohio State University to finish out his collegiate career. While there, he earned Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete honors. In his three seasons as a Buckeye, Woodby made 56 appearances (6 starts) and pitched over 117 innings while collecting 84 strikeouts. Woodby finished his illustrious Buckeye career with thirteen wins and only two losses.
