Pete Kamphaus embarks on his third season with the Mount Saint Joseph University football program, stepping into a new role in 2024 as coach for the Nickelbacks following two seasons as assistant defensive backs coach. During his tenure at The Mount, Coach Kamphaus has helped contribute to the development of one D3football.com All-American selection and coached the NCAA statistical interceptions champion of 2023. His efforts have also resulted in two Second Team All-Region selections and four First Team All-HCAC selections.

In 2023, with the help of Kamphaus, the Lions' defense achieved impressive standings, ranking #2 overall in the conference and securing a top 5 position in pass defense within the HCAC. Prior to his time at Mount Saint Joseph, Kamphaus coached at Batavia High School in Batavia, Ohio.
