Coach Lucas joins Mount St. Joseph University as the Tight Ends Coach for the 2025 season, bringing over two decades of high school coaching experience and a strong track record of success.

He arrives at The Mount after a 13-year tenure at Simon Kenton High School, where he served in multiple roles. From 2012 to 2020, he was the Pioneers’ offensive coordinator and assistant coach, helping lead the team to eight consecutive winning seasons. Lucas took over as head coach in 2021.

His coaching career began at Simon Kenton in the late 1990s, serving as head coach from 1997 to 1999 before taking the reins at Lloyd Memorial High School in 2000. During his 11-year run at Lloyd, he led the 2003 team to the Class 2A state semifinals.

In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Lucas worked as a school counselor until retiring from education in 2020. His leadership, experience, and dedication to student-athletes make him a valuable addition to the Lions’ coaching staff.
