Michael Schlomer enters his 7th season at the Mount in 2021-2022 as an Assistant Men's Volleyball Coach. Schlomer, a two-time high school coach of the year with 15 years of coaching experience, was hired in October, 2014.

Schlomer, a Cincinnati native and Mount alumnus, was the Miami Valley Conference Coach of the Year in 2003 and 2004 as head coach at Summit Country Day High School. He was also named the Southwest Ohio District 16 Coach of the Year in 2003.

Coach Schlomer began his coaching career as an assistant for the Elder High School boys’ volleyball team from 1998-2002, where he helped lead the 1999 and 2000 teams to state championships. He then took over as head coach at Summit where he notched 131 wins in eight seasons. He served one year as the junior varsity girls’ coach at Seton High School and is currently the varsity girls’ assistant coach.

A high school math teacher for 24 years, he currently teaches at Elder High School.

Schlomer earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts in 1993, a bachelor’s in mathematics in 1997 and master’s degree in education in 1998, all from the Mount.

In addition to teaching and coaching, Schlomer is a professional disc jockey.  He lives in Western Hills with his wife, Lisa, and three children, Gus, Zoe and Drew.
