Jenna Fessler came to Mount St. Joseph University after a successful playing career at Thomas More University where she played for Coach Spinney. Fessler played four seasons as a setter for the Saints in 2014-2019. As a freshman, she was the statistical leader in assists per set (11.36) in all NCAA DIII. She was the Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Freshman of the Year, a four-time AVCA All-Region selection, an AVCA Honorable Mention All-American, and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection. After a serious illness held her out of the 2016 season, she came back strong and went on to win the Cincinnati USA Women's Sports Association Lauren Hill Courage Award and the Honda Inspiration Award, which is a national award given to a female student-athlete in Division I, II, or III who has experienced an extraordinary hardship yet returns to athletic success. Overall, Fessler finished her career with 4,512 assists ranking her second in the Thomas More career record books. She is eight all time in career aces (152) and ninth in career digs (1,008). She led the Saints to a 118-20 record, four NCAA Tournament appearances, a Sweet 16, and an upset over the #1 team in the country in 2018.
After her playing career, she returned to Thomas More as an Interim Assistant Coach for the 2019 season and was an Assistant Varsity Coach at Seton High School. She has coached club volleyball in Cincinnati at Tri-State Elite for five years.
Fessler is a native of Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky and a Beechwood High School Graduate. She graduated from Thomas More University with a degree in Sports and Entertainment Marketing in 2019. She is now studying for her master’s degree in Sports Administration at the University of Cincinnati.
