The Lions men's cross country team finished in 11th place out of 12 in the team standings at the Sodexo Grizzly Invitational 8K course held at Blue River CC in Shelbyville, Ind. It was a pre-conference meet with eight of the 12 being teams part of the HCAC.
The Lions will be back in action on Sept. 18 at the National Catholic Championships held at University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind. The team will return to the Blue River CC course for the HCAC Cross Country Championship race on Oct. 31st
The Mount had fifteen runners race in the opening 8K meet of the season. Freshman, Chad Mason (Addyston, OH/Taylor) was the Lions first finisher with a time of 31:34. Sophmore Kevin Polking (Cincinnati, OH/St. Xavier) was the #2 runner for the team and had a time of 31:40. There were 107 competitors in the race.
