Mount St. Joseph softball splits double-header with Wilmington

BASICS
The Lions (7-6-1) split a double-header against Wilmington College (6-6), winning the first game 4-0 then dropping the second game 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1
In game one MSJ jumped out to the lead scoring two in the bottom of the first inning. Brianna Kauf hit a line drive up the right hand side to bring in Morgan Kain and Paige Kiesewetter. In the bottom of the fifth Kain hit to the right center wall for a double to bring in Olivia Quick and Claire Wehby.  

Kain ended the game with two RBI's. 

Game 2
The second game started slow for the Lions, with the Quakers scoring in the top of the first. Kiesewetter had a sacrifice fly to bring in Kain in the bottom of the first. The Quakers added another run the top of the second bringing the score to 3-1.

In the bottom of the fifth Brandy Bunch scored on a wild pitch but it would not be enough in the end.

The Lions travel to Farnklin College on Saturday at for games at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
