HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions came up short to Husson in the first game. Husson scored two runs in the top of the 5th, putting the Lions behind 2-0. The Lions couldn't score until the bottom of the 6th inning when Paige Kiesewetter singled to left field which advanced Morgan Hoehn to second and allowed Morgan Kain to score. It wouldn't be enough as the Lions dropped their first game of the season.
Marietta opened the second game with a unearned run in the first inning. The Lions put up 3 runs in the 5th inning, starting with Claire Wehby who doubled to center field, allowing Katie Tarter to advance to third and Sierra Sydnor scored. Kain then singled to take Wehby to third, which brought in another run by Tarter. Brandy Bunch was hit by a pitch with bases loaded which pushed Wehby through for the third run.
