Box Score 2 LOCATION: Bluffton, OH
THE BASICS:
The Mount St. Joseph softball team traveled to Bluffton, OH to take on the conference rival Beavers. They were able to get a much needed conference sweep winning game one 8-4 and game 2 by a score of 6-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
The Lions sent Paige Kiesewetter to the hill in game one and she pitched a complete game striking out 10 in the win. Kiesewetter helped herself at the plate as well hitting her 4th homerun on the season.
Other offensive standouts were plentiful for the Lions as they banged out 13 hits and scored 8 runs. Leadoff hitter Morgan Kain went 3 for 4 including a pair of doubles, Brandy Bunch added 2 doubles of her own. The best offensive performance of the game undoubtedly belonged to Danielle Nichelson who went 3 for 5 driving in 3 runs and scoring 2 of her own.
Game 2
In game 2 it was Nickelson's turn to take the hill, and she also pitched a complete game, scattering 8 Beaver hits allowing only 2 runs.
Again leadoff hitter Kain paced the offense for the Lions, while only having 1 hit she drove in 2 of the Lions 6 runs. Nichelson, Olivia Quick and Claire Wehby each added a hit and an RBI in the win.

The Lions travel to Ohio Northern on Sunday for a non-conference double-header.
