Box Score 2 LOCATION: Defiance, OH
THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph traveled to Defiance, but left their bats in Delhi. The Lions managed only 5 hits and 1 run in the two contests. Losing game 1by a score of 4-0 and game two 3-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Lions got two solid outings by their starters, In game one it was Paige Kiesewetter who threw a complete game 3 hitter. Kiesewetter though struggled again with her control as 2 of her 4 walks came in the fifth and would haunt her as both would score on a 3 run homer.
Danielle Nichelson pitched game 2 for the Lions and also had a solid day, only allowing Defiance to score 3 runs (2 earned). She was able to scatter 6 hits and a walk, pitching out of a couple of jams in the process.
Offensively the Lions struggled all day as they were only able to collect 5 hits in the double-header, the only player with multiple hits on the day was Becky Owens who had 2 of the 5.
