Crestview Hills, KY—On Tuesday, January 25 the Mount St. Joseph University Men's Volleyball program made the short trip across the river to take on Thomas More University. The Lions entered this game with a (2-4) record, falling to two ranked opponents early in the season. On the other hand this was the first action of the young season for the Saints of Thomas More.
MSJ 3, TMU 2
The Lions were able to earn their third win of the season, to improve their record to (3-4) overall. This was a tightly contested match, going to five sets. The Lions dropped the first two sets of the match by a score of 20-25 in each. In the final three sets of the evening the Lions were able to win each set by scores of (25-20, 25-22, 17-15).
Notable Performances:
-Jason Hascher led the team with 18 kills while adding 13 kills
-Ryan Bollhauer turned in an impressive performance with 11 kills while hitting .562
-The trio of Josh Kabel, Elijah Scott and Hayden Woods made strong contributions
defensively as each reached double digit digs. Kabel finished with 14, Woods with 11
and Scott with 10
With this impressive win behind them the Lions are set to take a bit of a break from game action, playing their next game on Sunday, February 6. This will be the Lions first opportunity to play at the Harrington center this season as they welcome Eastern Mennonite University. The match is scheduled to begin at 11 am.
