Cincinnati, Ohio—The opening seven matches of the Mount St. Joseph University Men's Volleyball programs all required travel. Today, Sunday February 6 the Lions finally hosted their first opponent, the Royals of Eastern Mennonite University. The Royals entered this game 0-4, including two losses on their current road trip that wrapped up in Cincinnati. This would also be the fourth meeting all-time between the two programs. Entering this game the Lions had won all previous meetings, including their most recent match, which saw the program win in straight sets. This Afternoon was no different, as the Lions were dominant, taking this match in straight sets.

The Lions evened their record to (4-4) overall on the season with this win. The Lions were in complete control of the match the entire way, with the closest set being the second set, ending 25-22. The largest margin of victory came in set one, winning 25-16. The final tally of this match was, (25-16, 25-22, 25-19).
Notable Performances:
-Senior Jason Hascher was phenomenal, leading the team in Kills, finishing with 15 total kills while hitting .462
-Senior Rey Sanchez played an all around game turning in eight kills, three service aces and seven digs

Now carrying a (4-4) record, the Lions will now prepare for a road trip to Buena Vista, Virginia. This trip will see the program play on Saturday, February 12. This will be a double header, playing both Immaculata University (scheduled to start at 1PM) and Southern Virginia University (scheduled to start at 3PM).
