Men's Volleyball Splits Weekend Road Trip

Buena Vista, Va.—Coming of a weekend that the Mount St. Joseph University Men's Volleyball program defeated Eastern Mennonite University in straight sets, the team would travel Virginia for double-header action.  In this lengthy road trip the team would split the two matches, defeating Immaculata University and dropping the second match to Southern Virginia.  This weekend split would see their record move to (5-5) overall.  

GAME ONE: MSJ 3 IU 1 

The first match of the double header saw the Lions win in four sets over Immaculata University.  Set one went to the Lions 25-16.  Immaculata would return the favor in the second set 25-22.  From there the Mount would be in the drivers seat, taking set three 25-19 and the fourth and final set 25-9.  

Game One Notables: 

    -Senior Jason Hascher finished the match with a team high 10 kills, while hitting 

    .444. 

    -Ryan Bollhauer was impressive, registering 9 kills and hitting .615. 
 

GAME TWO: SVU 3 MSJ 0 

Following their dominant win earlier in the afternoon the Lions were faced with a tough challenge, playing the #12 ranked team in the most recent AVCA poll.  This saw the program drop the match in straight sets  (18-25, 19-25, 20-25). 

Game Two Notables:

    -Hascher once again led the team in kills with nine.

    -Ben Carmosino turned in a great performance completing 22 assists
 

With this exciting road-trip coming away the program will now prepare for another road trip to Wabash College.  This game will take place at 7PM in Crawfordsville, Indiana.  For continued coverage of this upcoming game and all other MSJ Athletics, continue to follow msjlions.com
