Lions get third win in a row against Georgetown College

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team took down Georgetown College in straight sets on Monday night to move to 13-4 overall on the 2022 season. 

The Mount opened play taking set number one 25-18, behind a fantastic offensive effort. In the set the Lions consistently put the ball away, registering 17 kills and a .275 hitting percentage. The would go on to win set two 25-15 and set three 25-19 to secure the win. 

Offensively Brooke Aselage paced the team with a match-high 8 kills and a .250 hitting percentage. Freshman Ruthie Bingham was second with 7 kills, also hitting at a .250 clip. 

On the defensive side it was Aselage who continued her outstanding all-around play, getting a match-high 15-digs. Grace Wilking was second on the team in the match with 8 digs. Chloe Burton and Grace Young each were fantastic at the net in defense, both with 4 blocks. 

Senior Sam Buschur as well as Burton continually put the Lions hitters in position to put balls away, the pair combined for 28 assists on the night.

The Lions will return to the court on Wednesday as the head to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers (9-7, 2-0 HCAC). The match is scheduled to get underway at 7 PM.
