CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University men's lacrosse program opened the home portion of their 2022 season on Wednesday, by welcoming the Quakers of Wilmington College to Cincinnati and Schueler Field.
The Lions jumped out to a quick lead scoring a pair of unanswered goals in the games first six minutes. The first came from
Mason Meilinger at the 12:27 mark, unassisted. The second came just a few minutes later with
Solomon Richards getting the goal off the assist from
Michael Addai.
This was the first run of goals in a game of runs, with Wilmington answering the Lions opening charge with five unanswered goals of their own. The Lions then answered with a three goal run of their own, the goals in the run came from
Jacob Murray,
Cole Mericle and Meilinger.
Again though Wilmington went on a run outscoring The Mount 5-1 over the final nearly 20 minutes of action. The Lions final goal came with 3:40 to play a man-up effort from Mericle.

The Lions will take to Schueler Field again on Saturday as the welcome LaRoche to Cincinnati with the opening faceoff scheduled for 1:00 PM.
