Angola, Indiana—On Friday, March 25 the Mount St. Joseph University Men's Volleyball program traveled north to play the Thunder of Trine University. Entering this game the Lions carried a (9-8) overall record with a (4-3) conference record. Trine, an MVCL opponent, entered with a (10-11) record and (2-3) in the conference. The Lions would win this match with ease, in four sets. (25-21, 25-23, 28-30, 25-20).
Set One: MSJ 25 TU 21
In the opening set of the evening, as control of the set would flip between the two teams. Tied at 18-18, a service error by the Thunder, followed by a Noah Shrock ace and an attack error by Trine the Lions found themselves leading 21-18. Trine would respond, to close within one at 22-21. Hayden Wood would earn the 23 point of the game and two straight attack errors by Trine would push the Lions to set one victory 25-21.
Set Two: MSJ 25 TU 23
The second set of the evening would be much closer, however the beginning of the set would not predict the neck and neck finish. The Lions would find themselves leading 8-2, before Trine got their footing, and building a 21-18 lead. Two Trine attack errors and a Jason Hascher kill would tie the set at 23-23, as the Lions would escape with a 25-23 set win.
Set Three: MSJ 28 TU 30
The winner of this match would have to wait to be decided, as Trine would take set three in a nail bitter. The Lions would lead 27-26 before Trine would score two straight, before a Hascher kill, followed by two consecutive points to close the set.
Set Four: MSJ 25 TU 20
The final set of the evening was won in easy fashion, as the program would be in the drivers seat the entirety of the set. It would take a big swing from the arm of Hascher to end the match and improve the Program record to (10-8) on the season.
Notables:
•Hascher would post an unbelievable stat line with 23 kills, .304 hitting percentage and 11 digs
•Logan Essan would turn in a solid performance, leading the team with 12 digs

The Lions will play their final regular season matches of the season on Saturday, April 8. The program will travel to Springfield, Ohio to play Wittenberg at noon and St. John Fisher College at 2 PM.
