HANOVER, Ind. - On Saturday, March 26th your Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled up to Hanover College to compete at the Hanover Invitational. The temperatures were frigid reaching 32 degrees but the Lions did not back down still producing great results.
On the men's side
Decklan Brophy got the scoring started for the Lions. Brophy kicked off the meet with a great mark in Javelin reaching 39.12m which was good for 4th. Sophomore
Matthew Briedis followed Brophy with another impressive throw, this time in Discus. Briedis placed 5th in the Discus Throw with a mark of 37.55m. Freshman
Alex Schmidt was able to score points for the Lions in two events. Schmidt Finished 6th in the 5000m Run with a time of 19:14.67 and he also placed 4th in the 3000m Steeplechase with a time of 11:55.24. Fellow Freshman
Ty Richardson also impressed with an 8th place finish in the 400m Dash with a time of 56.06s.Â
On the women's side, Sophomore
Kayla Hess got the Lions started with a 7th place finish in the 1500m Run with a time of 5:27.29. Freshman
Victoria Barrett also delivered a solid time of 14.17s with a 4th place finish in the 100m Dash. Senior
Caitlin Biehle continued her impressive season with a 7th place finish in the 800m Run with a time of 2:36.12. Freshman
Avery Moehring also scored points for the Lions. Moehring finished 4th in the 5000m Run with a time of 20:36.02.Â
UP NEXT: Your Mount St. Joseph Lions will hit the road again traveling to Franklin, Ind. to compete at the Grizzly Invitational hosted by Franklin College on Saturday, April 2nd.
