CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team has been picked to finish second in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) this season, in the leagues annual pre-season coaches poll released today.
The Lions under coach
John Spinney have been amongst the top teams in the HCAC over the past three seasons. This version of the Lions looks to be just as competitive as in past seasons, and will hope to challenge the defending champion Transylvania Pioneers atop the standings.Â
Listed as "Players to Watch" for the Lions this season were a trio of returning seniors in libero
Erin Androne, right-side hitter
Emily Pfeifer and middle hitter
Grace Young. Joining them is a transfer senior
McKenzee Wagener who also plays middle hitter.Â
Transy was once again picked to finish atop the league this season, garnering 9 of 10 first place votes. The Mount was the only other team to receive a first-place vote.
