ANDERSON, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph University went on the road to Anderson to take on the Ravens in an HCAC matchup on Wendesday. The Lions and Ravens played a back-and-forth match that went five sets, with the Lions coming away with a 15-9 fifth set victory.
The teams exchanged wins in the first two sets, with each winning their respective set comfortable. Set one was took by the Ravens 25-17 and the Lions took set two 25-15. In the third it was much more competitive but Anderson came out on top 25-22. Late in the set The Mount led 22-20, but Anderson finished on a 5-0 run to secure the win.
Anderson looked to secure the win in the fourth set, but the Lions forced a winner-take-all fifth set with a 26-24 win. Trailing 23-21 late in the set the Lions got a pair of kills from
Emma Sicking to tie the score. A quick sideout from Anderson gave them a match point, but the Lions would get another kill from Sicking and win the next two points to secure the 26-24 win and force the fifth.
The fifth set was dominated by MSJ, they took an early 4-1 lead and never looked back. They would take the decisive set 15-9 and move to 2-0 in the HCAC this season.
Once again it was Sicking and
Hannah Graves leading the way for the Mount. Sicking had a team-high 20 kills in the match, while Graves added a 19 kill, 19 dig double-double.
Aubrey Miranda was the lone other Lion in double-figures with 12 kills.
Jasmine Butler dished out 47 assists while picking up 8 digs. Libero
Grace Wilking had a career-high 33 digs in the match as well.

The Lions will be on the road at Calvin this weekend, where they will take on Carroll, Kenyon and Calvin. The Carroll match will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, and the Kenyon and Calvin matches will be played on Saturday.
