CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team hosted Asbury University in their second match of the Lauren Hill Tip-Off Classic.
After a back and forth first quarter, the teams were deadlocked at 16-16, but the Lions really took control in the second quarter. They were able to hold Asbury scoreless for the final three minutes of the half, and they took a seven-point lead over the Eagles into the break.
MSJ started the second half hot, going on a 12-2 run to begin the third quarter, and by the end of the quarter they had grown their lead to 20 points. The Lions ran away with the game in the fourth, and the game ended with a final score of 72-47.
The Lions were lead in scoring by
Karlee Mills with 16 points and
Morgan Jenkins with 13, and on the defensive end they were anchored by
Hailey Guingrich's six blocks and eight boards.
