GRANVILLE, Ohio – On Tuesday evening, the Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team went on the road to face off against the Denison Big Red.
The Mount was coming into this game with some momentum from the weekend as they were able to win both of their games in the Lauren Hill Tip-Off classic, but, unfortunately, they would fall behind early in this one. Denison added to their lead in the second quarter, and the Lions found themselves in a 15-point deficit at the halftime break.
Led by their back-court duo of Aniyah Murphy and
Karlee Mills, the Lions fought valiantly to attempt the second half comeback. Murphy finished the game with 20 points, 5 assists, and 5 steals, and Mills went a perfect 6/6 from behind the arc, but, ultimately, their combined 38 points were not enough. MSJ came up just short in the end, losing by a score of 77-69 and moving their record to 4-1 on the season.
UP NEXT: The Lions have a little break for the Thanksgiving weekend, but they will return to action again next Wednesday, December 4th, when they travel to take on Bluffton.
