CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University men's basketball team bounced back after dropping their opening game of the Lauren Hill Tip-Off Classic, taking down Alma 79-62 on the final day of the classic.
Luke Collinsworth led a quartet of double-figure scorers for the Lions, he scored a game and season-high 23 points, to go along with 9 rebounds and a block. Joining him in double-figures were
Matthew Menninger (14),
Elisha Jones (12) and
Michael Loftis who came off the bench to score 12.Â
The Lions outscored Alma 38-22 in the first half, which helped them to hold off a much stronger effort from the Scots in the second. The Mount opened the game on an 11-2 run and never looked back. With 11:47 to play in the second half a
Braden Miller three put the Lions ahead by 28, their largest lead of the game.Â
 As a team they shot 49.2% (29-59) from the field in the game and 35.5% (11-31) from three point range. While holding the Scots to just 37.1% (26-70) from the field, and 25.9% (7-27) from three point range.Â
The Mount also outrebounded Alma 45-35, with a balanced rebounding effort. Collinsworth led the way with 9, Menninger added 8 and
Joe Brand had 7 boards.Â
