WILMORE, Kentucky – On Wednesday night the Mount St. Joseph men's soccer team headed south to face the Asbury Eagles. Asbury opened the scoring early as they were able to find the back of the net in just the tenth minute. They would double their lead with another goal late in the first half. The Mount would go into the break down two goals to nil.
After conceding twice in the first half, the Lions defense tightened up and was able to keep a second half shutout, and goalkeeper
Aaron Smith finished the contest with an impressive seven saves.

Michael Smith played all 90 minutes for the Lions and help MSJ push for a late comeback. Freshman forward
Brady Diedenhofer was able cut the deficit in half with a headed goal coming off an assist from Smith, but the push ultimately came too late as the game ended in a 2-1 defeat.
