CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph University track and field program hosted its second indoor event of the season on Saturday. Once again the Lions fared well in the event, this time with quite a few more schools in attendance.
Women's Results
The Lions had a quartet of athletes compete in the 800m run, they were led by
Anna Packer who finished third with a time of 2:41.72. Following closely behind in fourth was
Julia Gooding (2:44.25) and
Amanda Zerhusen (2:44.82). That trio scored 16 points toward the team score in the event.
In the women's distance medley the team of Gooding, Pakcer, Zerhusen and
Sicilia Eshman finished second with a time of 14:16.75, scoring another eight points toward the team score.
The Lions also had solid performances in the field events.
Josie Rigdon finished in a tie for second in the pole vault competition, clearing a height if 2.53m and scoring seven points toward the team score.
Londyn Frazier finished in fourth place in the long jump with a 4.18m jump in the finals. She also finished fourth in the triple jump with an 8.82m jump and in total scored 10 points toward the team score.
In one of the Mount's best performances of the event,
Madalyn Hudnall finished second in the shot put with a 10.89m toss. Hundall also finished fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.71m, she scored 12 points alone toward the team score. In the weight throw
Sienna Slaughter finished second with a 12.55m mark that earned the team a further eight points.
All told the Lions finished with 61 total points and in fourth place in the event.
Men's Results
In the 60m dash the Lions had a trio of performers earn points, led by
Kyle Evers Smith who finished second and earned eight points.
Diego Yun finished fourth and
Jalen Range fifth combining for another six points.
That trio continued their outstanding day in the 200m dash, Evers Smith won that event with a 22.28. Yun finished in second just behind his teammate with a 23.03, while Range finished fourth with a 23.81. In total that group scored a further 22 points toward the team score.
The Mount was also the winner in the 400m dash, as Kendrick Sherrer won the event with a 52.69.
Zach McKenna also earned points finishing in fifth place, the pair combined for 12 points.
Jacob Miller earned the team points in the 800m run, finishing in fifth place earning two points. He would go on to earn six more points in the mile run finishing in sixth place.
In the pole vault MSJ's Brady Glass finished in a tie for fourth, clearing a mark of 3.35 m. His performance earned the Lions another seven team points.
Dylan Hammons had a solid performance in the long jump, finishing third in the event. His mark of 5.75m was good enough to secure another six points.
In total the Mount finished with 69 total points, good enough for them to finish third in the event.
