Cincinnati, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph Lions faced off against Hanover College in an exciting Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) clash on Saturday. Despite a strong effort, the Lions fell just short, losing 82-76 after a tightly contested game.
The Lions kept the game close through the first half. However, Hanover's sharp shooting from beyond the arc—an impressive 61%—ultimately made the difference.
Senior
Madison Drummonds led the Lions' offensive efforts with 17 points, shooting an efficient 7-for-13 from the field. Drummonds also dominated the boards, grabbing a team-high nine rebounds. She was one of five Lions to score in double figures, showcasing the team's balanced attack.
The Mount excelled at the free-throw line, going a perfect 9-for-9. Sophomore
Anyiah Murphy led the way with a flawless 4-for-4 performance at the stripe. Overall, the Lions pulled down 43 rebounds, a testament to their hustle and effort.
While the Lions competed hard against one of the HCAC's top teams, Hanover's hot shooting proved too much to overcome.
