CINCINNATI, OHIO — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team tied Rose-Hulman 1–1 at Schueler Field on Saturday evening.
The Lions came out strong, applying pressure to the Fightin' Engineers' defense. In the 7th minute, Michael Smith sent a pass down the field to Mohit Naphray, who put it in the back of the net, giving the Lions a 1–0 lead. The Mount's defense played tough, not allowing Rose-Hulman many shots on goal. The Lions went into halftime up 1–0.
Rose-Hulman scored in the 62nd minute, tying the game at 1–1. The Lions and Fightin' Engineers both had multiple chances to take the lead in the second half. Mount goalkeeper Carson Sabers made two outstanding saves in the final six minutes to help the Lions hold on for a 1–1 draw.
UP NEXT: The Lions will continue HCAC play as they host Transylvania University on Wednesday, October 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
