CINCINNATI, OHIO – The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team defeated Earlham College 2–0 at Schueler Field on Saturday evening, celebrating Senior Day.
The Lions controlled most of the first half, keeping the ball primarily on Earlham's side of the field. The Mount had a couple of chances to score but couldn't find the back of the net. Despite dominating the first half, the Lions went into halftime tied 0–0.
In the second half, the Mount continued to dominate, creating multiple scoring opportunities. Finally, in the 76th minute, the Lions' Presley Boyle found the back of the net off a pass from Christopher Sanchez-Romero to give the team a 1–0 lead. Less than five minutes later, Brady Diedenhofer scored off a pass from Nathaniel Knuth, extending the lead to 2–0. Goalkeeper Aaron Smith and the Lions' defense held strong to secure the 2–0 shutout victory.
UP NEXT: The Lions will travel to Berea, Kentucky, on Wednesday, October 22, to continue HCAC play against Berea College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
