Tiffin, Ohio — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team defeated Heidelberg 3–2 on the road Wednesday evening.
The Lions were aggressive early, scoring in the first fifteen minutes of the game. In the 12th minute, Mohit Naphray found the back of the net for the first time this year, giving the Lions a 1–0 lead. The defense played well in the first half, and the Mount went into the locker room up 1–0.
The second half was a back-and-forth contest. In the 49th minute, Heidelberg scored to tie the game at 1–1. However, in the 63rd minute, the Lions' Presley Boyle responded with a goal to reclaim the lead, making it 2–1. In the 73rd minute, last week's HCAC Player of the Week, Brennan Lewis, scored to give the Mount a 3–1 advantage. Heidelberg answered in the 77th minute, cutting the lead to 3–2. The Lions' defense held strong for the final thirteen minutes, securing a 3–2 road victory.
