Franklin, Indiana — The Mount St. Joseph University men's team won on the road at Franklin College, 4–3.
The Grizzlies came out strong, scoring two goals in the first ten minutes of the game. The Lions' defense settled in, and the first half ended with the Lions down 2–0.
The Lions scored in the second minute of the second half on a penalty kick by Brennan Lewis. In the 65th minute, Presley Boyle evened the score with a goal off a pass from Mohit Naphray. In the 74th minute, the Mount took the lead when Eric Slavey scored his first goal of the season. In the 80th minute, the Grizzlies tied the match. But with less than three minutes remaining, Brennan Lewis outran the defense to connect with a pass from Mohit Naphray, giving the Lions a 4–3 lead.
Up Next: The Lions will return home on Wednesday, October 8, to Schueler Field, where they will take on the Hanover Panthers. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
