CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team was defeated by Hanover College 3–2 Wednesday evening.
The match started with both teams creating goal opportunities. In the 33rd minute, the Panthers scored to take a 1–0 lead. Less than ten minutes later, Hanover scored again to make it 2–0. The Lions went into halftime trailing 2–0.
The Panthers came out strong in the second half, scoring in the 53rd minute to increase their lead to 3-0. In the 69th minute, Brady Diedenhofer scored a header off a free kick from Nathaniel Knuth, making the score 3-1. In the 80th minute, Diedenhofer scored another header off a corner kick from Mohit Naphray, cutting the Panthers' lead to one. The Lions were unable to push through a third goal and fell 3-2.
