ALTOONA, Pa. – The Mount St. Joseph University men's golf team turned in a strong showing at the Sinking Valley Collegiate Classic hosted by Penn State Altoona, finishing eighth in the team standings.
Leading the way for the Lions was Caden Perkins, who captured the individual title after an impressive weekend. Perkins opened the tournament with a 75 in the first round and followed it up with a tournament-best 71 in the second round. His performance forced a playoff with Oliver Clark of Franklin & Marshall, where Perkins sealed the victory on the second playoff hole by carding a par.
Ty Huber and Carter Stried each posted a two-day total of 158 (+18) to finish tied for 39th overall. Ethan Moorman finished tied for 78th with a total score of 172, while Seth Hegemier rounded out the Lions' lineup with a 183.
