RICHMOND, Kentucky - The Mount St. Joseph men's golf team took part in the 2026 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference at the Boone's Trace National Golf Club in Richmond, Kentucky this weekend. The Lions finished in fourth place overall as a team, led by an all-tournament run by
Carter Stried who finished in fourth place as an individual.
In round one
Caden Perkins led the way for the Lions carding an opening round 3-over par 75, Stried and
Ty Huber were not far behind finishing round one six and seven over respectively.
The second round was moving day for Stried, as he carded a 1-under par 71. On the front nine he played bogey free golf, with a birdie on the par-4 first and the par-5 eighth. On the backside he carded a trio of bogeys but that was lifted by a pair of birdies to finish off his under par round. Perkins in round two was 4-over and Huber was +6. Through two rounds
Ethan Moorman was +30 and
Seth Hegemier was +37.
The final round saw Stried climb a pair of spaces in the individual standings with an even par 72. His round was buoyed by an eagle 3 on the 542 yard par 5 tenth. Perkins (76), Moorman (77) and Huber (78) all had solid final round performances to help the Lions climb one spot as a team in the final standings on the last day of the event.
Perkins finished the event 11-over par and in ninth place overall, Huber finished 19-over and in nineteenth place overall, Moorman was +30 and finished in 30th place. As a team the Lions went 315, 308, 303 for a three round total of 926.
