RICHMOND, Ind. – The Mount St. Joseph University women's volleyball team closed out their regular season on Saturday afternoon with a competitive four-set match against Earlham College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play. Despite strong performances across the board, the Lions came up short, falling to the Quakers, 1–3.
MATCH RESULT: MSJ 1 – EARLHAM 3 (25-22, 20-25, 14-25, 20-25)
The Lions opened the match with confidence, taking the first set 25-22 behind efficient attacking and solid defensive execution. Earlham responded in the second and third sets, building momentum and taking control of the match. Mount St. Joseph continued to fight in the fourth, staying within striking distance throughout, but the Quakers ultimately held on to close out the contest.
Senior Hannah Graves led the way offensively with 14 kills on 44 total attempts and added 12 digs for another double-double effort. Sophomore Aubrey Miranda provided a spark with 12 kills on 27 swings, while Sydney Doty contributed 10 kills on 36 attempts to round out a balanced front-row attack.
Freshman Ava Moore and sophomore Ginger Johnson directed the offense effectively, finishing with 21 and 19 assists, respectively. Johnson also notched 12 digs, showcasing her versatility on both sides of the ball. Libero Lyndsey Stephenson anchored the back row with an impressive 21 digs, providing consistency and leadership in the defensive effort.
Though the Lions were unable to come away with the win, their composure, teamwork, and determination were evident throughout the match.
UP NEXT: Mount St. Joseph turns its focus to the postseason as the Lions host the first round of the HCAC Tournament on Wednesday, November 12th. Match time is to be announced.
