CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team wrapped up their regular season on a high note, defeating the Berea College Mountaineers 61-55 at the Harrington Center. With this victory, the Lions secured home-court advantage for the first round of the conference tournament.
The Lions capitalized on their defensive pressure, tallying four steals and an impressive 13 blocks while also converting 14 fast-break points on the offensive end.
Karlee Mills led the charge with a game-high 21 points, while
Hailey Guingrich added 15 points to round out the double-digit scorers. In the paint,
Morgan Jenkins dominated the boards, grabbing a team-high nine rebounds to help control possession.
Defensively, the Mount held Berea's Satori to just 13 points while limiting James, who averages 15 per game, to 11 points—a testament to the Lions' lockdown defense.
With the regular season behind them, the Lions now turn their focus to the postseason. Mount St. Joseph will host the first round of the conference tournament on Saturday, February 22, at the Harrington Center.
