CINCINNATI, Ohio - On a rainy Wednesday night in February, the Harrington Center was filled with joy as the Mount St. Joseph Lions (15-6, 10-4 HCAC) defeated the Franklin Grizzlies (14-7, 8-6 HCAC) by a final score of 77-54 for Head Coach Maisee Elston's 51
st victory as the head coach at Mount St. Joseph.
           
The first 20 minutes had some exciting moments, including two buzzer beaters at the end of each of the first two quarters. At the end of the first it was a three at the horn by junior 
Karlee Mills and before half sophomore 
Hailey Guingrich drilled a mid-range jumper, giving the Lions the 36-26 edge at the half.
           
While the game was in striking distance for the Grizzlies going into the final 20 minutes, the Lions went on a 7-0 run to start the third quarter and never looked back, resulting in the Lions going wire-to-wire in tonight's contest. Following the game, The Mount presented Coach Elston with a game ball commemorating her 50
th win last Saturday at Manchester
           
The Lions were fantastic from behind the arc and at the line in the game, as they went 8 for 15 from three and 14 for 16 at the free throw line. Four Lions finished with double figures as Senior 
Madison Drummonds led the way with a 19-point, 11-rebound double-double. Guingrich added a 12-point 12 rebound double-double of her own and Senior 
Anyiah Murphy finished with 12 point while Mills finished with 11.
