GENEVA, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph track and field team was represented by junior
Madalyn Hudnall at the NCAA Division III Championships in Geneva, Ohio this week.
Hundall competed in the Javelin throw in the event, an event she won at the HCAC Championships, and currently holds the MSJ program record in. She qualified for the event with a top mark of 41.27m this season on here HCAC winning throw. That number rated as the 21st longest throw in all of D-III this season.
In the NCAA Championships, Hudnall was unable to improve upon her season best mark but did out perform her 21st seed entering the event. Her first throw of the event went 34.92m, and her second went 35.63m. Her second mark moved her into a finish of 19th in the event.
This caps of a stellar season for Hudnall, who along with winning the HCAC title in the Javelin won the same event at the Centre Twilight, and finished 5th at the Blizzard Buster. Despite not qualifying for nationals in her other events she is also an accomplished Hammer thrower as well, finishing 4th at the HCAC's, 3rd at the Centre Twilight and 2nd at the Landon Bond Classic.
