BEREA, Ohio – On Friday, September 5, the Mount St. Joseph Lions continued their 2025 campaign with a tough match up against Carnegie Mellon in Berea, Ohio, falling in straight sets.
MATCH ONE: MSJ 0 – Carnegie Mellon 3 (12-25, 23-25, 14-25)
The Lions faced a well-rounded Carnegie Mellon team and came up short, dropping the match 0–3. Senior Hannah Graves led MSJ on offense with 7 kills on 34 total attempts, while sophomore Sydney Doty contributed 6 kills. Sophomore Aubrey Miranda added 19 total attempts, helping drive the Lions' attack. Freshman Ava Moore and sophomore Ginger Johnson handled setting duties, recording 11 and 10 assists respectively.
Defensively, sophomore Lyndsey Stephenson posted 13 digs, and junior Audrey Griffin added 10, anchoring MSJ's back court effort against Carnegie Mellon's high-powered offense. While the Lions were unable to come away with a win, their continued effort and growing chemistry offer promise for the matches ahead.
