Career Night For Mills Propels Lions to Third Straight Win

CINCINNATI, Ohio — On a chilly January evening, the Mount St. Joseph women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance to secure a 69–53 home victory over Hanover College in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at the Harrington Center. The win was the third straight Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference win for the Lions.

From the opening tip, the Lions set a determined tone, using a balanced offensive approach to establish control. After a tightly contested first quarter, MSJ began to find its rhythm, capitalizing on high-percentage looks and finding success from beyond the arc.

Karlee Mills was sensational, turning in a one the best offensive performances in her career at the Mount. Mills shot 13-for-18 from the field and an impressive 8-for-13 from three-point range, finishing with a career-high 34 points. Her sharpshooting kept the Lions in front throughout and ignited the home crowd as MSJ pushed the lead in the second quarter.

Complementing Mills, Morgan Jenkins provided a strong supporting effort, finishing with 14 points and contributing on both ends of the floor as MSJ extended its advantage into the second half. Sam Price chipped in with 12 points, helping sustain offensive pressure as the Lions maintained control.

Defensively, MSJ forced turnovers and limited Hanover's scoring opportunities, holding the visitors to just 53 points on the night. The Lions' energy was evident across all four quarters, particularly in balanced defensive rotations and effective rebounding.

By the fourth quarter, MSJ was firmly in control, cruising to a well-earned victory and improving its HCAC standing. The win marked a strong response in conference play and showcased the Lions' ability to execute on both ends of the floor.
