CINCINNATI, OHIO — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team was defeated by Wabash College, 3-0, at Schueler Field Wednesday evening, moving their record to 3-2-2 on the season.
The Lions had their best opportunity 21 minutes into the half when Brennan Lewis struck a shot that the Little Giants' goalkeeper saved. Wabash would score three minutes later on a header off a corner kick, giving them a 1-0 lead. For the remainder of the half, the Mount defense held strong as the Lions went into halftime trailing 1-0.
The Little Giants would score two goals in the second half, one in the 59th minute on a header off a corner kick and another in the 67th minute, giving them a 3-0 advantage. Presley Boyle, Sam Schneider, and Logan Cornwall all recorded shots that were saved by the Wabash goalkeeper throughout the half. Despite the Lions creating multiple scoring opportunities, they would fall to Wabash, 3-0.
UP NEXT: The Mount will travel to Anderson, Indiana, where they will open HCAC play against Anderson University on Saturday, September 26. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
