NORTH MANCHESTER, Indiana - The Mount St. Joseph cross country teams opened their 2026 season with a trip to the Manchester Invitational on Friday.
On the women's side freshman
Claire Higgins led the way for the Lions, finishing in 9th place with a 21:05.3 in her first collegiate meet. Sicilia Eschman ran a 23:10.3 for 24th place,
Ashley Bornemann was 26th with a 23:29.5.The final two Lions that competed in the event were Lana Connolly (24:35.0) and
Kaley Knapp (25:25.8).
On the men's side it was senior
Alex Taft who had the best finish finishing 18th with a 18:05.2. Braedyn Hatton was next with a time of 18:18.0,
Henry Bowman and
Jonathan Blank finished back-to-back in 44th and 45th respectively. Malcom Hudson rounded out the Lions five runners with a 21:08.5.
