SPRINGFIELD, OHIO — The Mount St. Joseph University men's soccer team tied Wittenberg University, 0-0, Sunday afternoon at Edwards-Maurer Stadium, bringing their record to 2-0-1.

The Mount defense and Lions goalkeeper Carson Sabers kept the game scoreless in the first half, preventing Wittenberg from capitalizing on multiple chances. Sabers saved both of the Tigers' shots on goal and helped the Mount head into halftime tied 0-0.

In the second half, the Lions' offense came to life, creating multiple scoring opportunities. In the 51st minute, Brennan Lewis fired a shot that was saved by the Wittenberg goalkeeper. Presley Boyle and JT Roden also gave the Mount opportunities to break the tie. The defense continued to play tough, allowing just one shot on goal in the second half. Sabers made the save on Wittenberg's only shot on goal of the second half as the Lions finished with a 0-0 draw.

UP NEXT: The Mount will travel back to Cincinnati, where they will take on Marietta College at Schueler Field on Saturday, September 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
