Mount women's basketball team loses home game to Franklin College, 75-36

Visiting Franklin College used an 18-2 run to end the first half, and held the Lions to 13 second half points as they went on to a 75-36 win over the Mount. The Lions dropped to 2-12 overall, 2-5 in the HCAC while Franklin, ranked in the Top 20 of the nation in two different polls, goes to 14-0, 7-0.

The Lions utilized balanced scoring and soild all-around play in the early going of the game against Franklin, jumping out to leads of 13-10 and 21-17 (with 6:35 to play in the first half). The Grizzlies finished the first half out-shooting the Lions 50 percent to 32 percent from the field, and out-rebounding the Lions, 23-8 as they out-scored the Mount 22-6 in the paint.

Franklin College pushed their 12-point halftime lead out to 45-25 with 15:31 to play in the second half and led by as many as 41points in the second half, as they held the Mount to 19 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes of action. They also connected on 53 percent from the field while controlling the boards, 44-25 in the game.

Katie Jo Collins (Cincinnati, OH/Mercy) led the Mount with 10 points.
