Lions' men's basketball team falls short in 54-42 loss at Rose-Hulman

HCAC co-leader Rose-Hulman raced out to a 32-14 lead at the half, and held a double-digit lead throughout the second half today as they registered a 54-42 win today over the Mount. The Lions fall to 6-7 overall, 2-4 in the HCAC. They will be back in action on Jan. 11 when they play at Franklin College.

The Engineers out-shot the Mount, 50 to 27 percent in the first 20 minutes of action, en route to their 11th win of the season in 13 games. They turned up their shooting a notch in the second half, hitting at a 56 percent clip from the field, as they never surrendered their double-digit advantage throughout the remainder of the game. Rose-Hulman doubled up the Mount on the boards, winning the rebounding battle by a 36-17 total. The Lions did force 21 Engineers' turnovers, while committing 10 turnovers.

VJ Evans (Dayton, OH/Chaminade-Julienne) led the Mount with 14 points while teammate Clifford Cass (Cincinnat, OH/Mt. Healthy) added 10 points.
