THE BASICS
The Lions (0-2, 0-0 HCAC) dropped the first road test at Wilmington College (1-1, 0-0 HCAC)  61-59.

HOW IT HAPPENED
A slow start doomed the Lions, who fell behind 21-10 after the first quarter, but would go on to outscore the Quakers in each of the final three quarters.

The Lions fell behind 34-27 to the Quakers at halftime before storming back in the third quarter when Ciera Phillips sunk a layup to keep the Lions in the game at 45-42.

Lainee Studer made a layup with 9 minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter, bringing the score to 50-48, the closest it had been all game. 

The Lions kept it within 3 points the remainder of the contest. A Bristyl Webb free throw with 29 seconds left on the clock narrowed the gap to 58-57, but the Lions could not steal the win.

Wilmingtons Brittaney Jefferson finished with 21 points and 6 rebounds.

STANDOUTS
Phillips led the team in scoring with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Studer finished the night with 11 points. Bristyl Webb had a team-high 6 steals.

UP NEXT
The Lions return to Wilmington College tomorrow for a mathup against 15th-ranked DePauw University. Game time is 1 p.m.
