THE BASICS
The Lions (0-6, 0-2) couldn't break through against the Fightin' Engineers (5-1, 1-0) 59-44.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions started out slow, ending the first quarter down 10. Ciera Phillips, however, dominated the boards, racking up 7 rebounds in the quarter.
From there, the Fightin' Engineers never gave the lead up the rest of the game, getting its lead up 17 points. Mount St. Joseph caused 24 turnovers in the game, compared to only turning the ball over 13 times.
Rose-Hulman outshot the Lions in all aspects of the game, with the Mount going only 13 percent from three-point range. The Fightin' Engineers went 15-20 from the free throw line.
STANDOUTS
Lainee Studer led the team in assists and steals with four each. Bristyl Webb had a tremendous day, finishing with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Webb went 3-4 from beyond the arc, making all the three's on the day for the Mount. Phillips ended the game with 12 total rebounds.
