Mount Lions fall to home team Bluffton Beavers, 71-45

The Mount Lions faced off against the Bluffton Beavers where they lost by a score of 71-45. The Lions shot 83.3% from the free throw line only missing two on the night. They did not miss one free throw in the whole first half. The Lions drop down to a 5-17 overall record, and going 1-14 in the HCAC. The next game for the Mount will be on Saturday, February 14th at Manchester University.

At the 13:55 mark in the first half, Brilyn Webb (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) stole the ball and made a layup to cut the Beavers lead to two. This would be the closest the Lions would get to the lead. Webb logged 16 points for the night where all her field goals came from beyond the arch, shooting 4-7. She also was perfect from the free throw line with four made. Webb played the most minutes with 38.

Another big contributor was senior center, Danielle Rohrbach. Rohrbach (Tiffin, OH/Hopewell-Loudon), posted 3-5 from in the paint finishing with 6 points and 7 rebounds. Also seeing a lot of playing time was guard Taylor Brown (Peebles, OH/Peebles) with 33 minutes. Brown was also perfect from the free throw line making all four. She finished with six total points and five rebounds.

The Bluffton Beavers held the Lions shooting 0% from the 3-point line in the first half of the game. They bettered their record to15-7 overall and 10-5 in the HCAC.
