Mount men's volleyball team claims second straight 3-0 home win over Fontbonne University

The 13th-ranked Mount St. Joseph University men's volleyball team claimed its second straight 3-0 win over visiting Fontbonne University on Saturday afternoon. The Lions, winners 25-21, 25-15, 25-21, improve to 9-3 on the season. They will put their 3-0 MCVL record, and first plac standing, on the line on Feb. 20 when they play at Benedictine University.

Strong hitting and soild defensive play by the Lions again today, helped them post the win over Fontbonne, in a non-conference match. Adam Williams (Chicago, IL/Mt. Carmel) and teammate Alex Vohland (West Chester, OH/Lakota West) each recorded a match-high 13 kills, with Williams turning in a .619 hitting percentage. He did not have any hitting errors in 21 attempts. Vohland also had a match-high eight digs.

Luke Eschenbach (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) had a match-high 35 assists and three service errors. Lyle Lehmann (Rapid City, SD/Rapid City Central) chipped in five digs. Williams and Brett Cooper (Cincinnati, OH/La Salle) each had three block solos.

The Mount out-hit the Griffins, .242 to .066 and had a 10-4 lead in team blocks.
