  The Mount St. Joseph Lions women’s basketball team took on the Manchester Spartans where they fell by a score of 60-45. The Lions started out slow but came back to be down two points at the 8:45 mark of the first half after a Spartan turnover led to a Taylor Brown (Peebles, OH/(Peebles) jump shot. The Lions kept the game close throughout the first half until at 25-19 in favor of the Spartans.
Brilyn Webb (Oxford, OH/Talawanda) led the team in points with 10 along with four steals and five rebounds. Webb started the game and played 38 minutes, the most on the team. Also contributing a lot of playing time was Bristyl Webb (Oxford, OH/Talawanda). She also started the game for the Mount where she played 34 minutes, during which she collected eight points, four of which came from the free throw line, where she made all her attempts. Bristyl Webb also finished with six rebounds, leading the team.
Other contributors included Meredith Hartfiel (Villa Hills, KY/Dixie Heights), who came off the bench to hit two, three-pointers and record a steal. Danielle Rohrbach (Tiffin, OH/Hopewell-Loudon) finished with seven points, six of which came from inside the paint.
The Lions finished shooting 77.8% from the free throw line for the day. The next game is on Wednesday, Feb 18 at the Harrington Center at 7:30 p.m. against Anderson University.
