Mount St. Joseph University used a huge third quarter in a (4-10, 3-4 HCAC) win against Hanover (7-7, 3-4 HCAC) 67-63.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lions rallied back from down 14 at halftime, outscoring Hanover by 17 in the third quarter. Erica Walsh came through for the Lions, scoring 12 of her game-high 19 points. The pressure seemed get to the Panthers as the game moved along.
The fourth quarter was tight, with the teams score being 56-56 with 6 minutes remaining. Maria Sams knocked in a three pointer to give the Lions the lead. They remained tied until 18 seconds left on the clock, when Lainee Studer made four free throws to put the game away.
STANDOUTS
Walsh lead the way for the Lions, with 19 points and 6 rebounds. Studer dropped 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Brilyn Webb scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
